Adirondack Life 10th Annual Photo Contest

South Mountain Photos is a small photography studio set up at the base of South Mountain in North River, New York and is run by Ed Wyant Jr. and his wife Terry.

After a life changing accident in April, 2001, a year of healing, and at the urging of photographer friends that God put in my path, I bought a digital camera and began taking photographs as “therapy”. I found I had a God-given talent for visual composition. What started out as therapy has turned into a passion, one I enjoy sharing with everyone I meet. Not bad for a guy that started his adult life jumping out of airplanes for a living! God has blessed me along the way with 5 good kids, supportive wife, friends, a home in the Adirondacks, and a new profession I can share with the world.

My photo, “Ruby Display” tied for 3rd place in the 10th Annual Photo Contest.
(Pg. 49 of the April 2005 issue)

It took many shots of blur & air to come up with this unique photo. I will continue to submit photos for consideration to contests and for magazine use but “RUBY DISPLAY” will always be my first published and most memorable photo. I take pride in my work and strive to provide the best photos I can.

We use an EPSON 2200 photo printer along with EPSON photo quality paper, EPSON archival inks which allow us to offer fine art quality prints that are warranted for 70+ years against fading or discoloration, providing the prints are kept out of direct sunlight or moisture laden areas.

All photos are done in house. We use acid free double mats and the frames are custom made in-house. Our quality photos require three separate steps to complete; the photo itself, the matting, and the framing. Each step is an art in itself. Combined, they produce a distinctive piece of fine art.

God is good!
